A Personal Note…

Recently I was to describe my writing style. I honestly would not put a word or phrase to it. I write what I feel. I'm an emotionally driven, creatively grounded Cancer with a platform. Every now and again I like to cause in the words if the late John Lewis "Good Trouble. "

Everything from my articles, poetry and novels have the ability to push the envelope. The novels have been called taboo, the poetry has been described as provocative, and the articles are thought provoking. All in all it is a form of challenge. Challenging for me and challenging the reader. Why? Because it is something I want to read. I’m not alone out here or at least, I don't assume.

My latest writings have been racially driven and socially centered. There is a simple explanation. We are racially driven and socially centered. Whether I am writing for myself or for one of my contributors. It is not only what is relevant today, but these topics have been at the forefront of discussion for hundreds of years. Whether in the fields, streets or board rooms. Every now and again a set of artists comes along and takes a hold of it all, claims it and stamps it in their DNA. I hope to be on the path as one of those artists. It is daring, yet vulnerable. And yes, I am an author who reads other's books and reviews them. I interview other authors and share their insight. Why? Because I am not in competition with them. We are in this culture together. The culture should be nurtured.

As I learn along the way, I am charged to teach. I am charged to inspire. However, I am not someone who can be taken advantage of for having a natural giving nature. Intuition is my guide and discernment lays the path. When I look back on my life I want to remember how I left no stone unturned and loved along the way.
