bloom
BLOOM IS A SPACE OF SOLACE AND PEACE. IN A WORLD FILLED WITH UNCERTAINTY, IT IS IMPORTANT TO TAKE A PAUSE & BREATHE. I LIKE TO SAY THAT THE BREATH IS IN THE BLESSING. AS LONG AS WE HAVE BREATH, WE ARE LIVING. AS LONG AS WE LIVE, WE MUST LEARN. AS LONG AS WE LEARN, WE MUST LOVE AND CREATE.
One common question I am asked is how am I able to juggle all of my many hats. From being a mom, modeling to authorship and everything in-between, how do I manage not only my schedule, but also my sanity. I am a pretty organized, detailed and a solution driven person. Those qualities help me keep it all together. In addition to organization and understanding priorities of work, I make sure I make time for myself. Selfcare is an important focal point in my life. Meditating daily and reflecting on what I want helps me stay present. For this reason, “Bloom” was important for me to create as well as to share. Below you will find some simple tools that you can use on your own journey.

THE GRATITUDE EXERCISE
Technology makes our lives easier, faster and accessible. However, when was the last time you wrote a handwritten note or letter? When was the last time you received one? Emails and instant messages are easy, but taking the time to write your thoughts to someone special is intimate.
The exercise is to send someone a special handwritten letter and mail it to them. If they are nearby, seal it in an envelope and hand it to them. This exercise is to show gratitude by promoting purposeful connection. You don’t have to limit it to just one person. Send as many notes and letters to your loves as you’d like. A small gesture is never small in the grand scheme of things.
TIPS!
These are few of our favorite things!
Life is tough sometimes. We all have our seasons of hardship and ease. One thing we can do on the not so good days or time periods is make that day our favorite. Make a list of your favorite things when we are feeling good. On the days we aren’t feeling our best, read that list and do a lot or a little something to pick up our mood..
Wear our favorite color.
Eat our favorite dessert/food.
Read our favorite book.
Wear our favorite clothing item.
Talk to our favorite friend.
Walk/run our favorite path.
Watch our favorite T.V. show/film.
Listen to our favorite song.
Go to our favorite place.
Do our favorite excersise.
Laugh at our favorite joke.
Do our favorite constructive hobby.
It’s hard to stay in rut when we surround ourselves with our favorite things. All of these suggestions are actions. There are times when we must remain still and rest. There are moments when we must grieve and cry. There are also times when we must take action. Let those actions be meaningful and mindful. Let what we do in the moments we find the hardest be mapped out by the days created on our best. We need to give ourselves the grace we give others. The goal isn’t perfection, just better. I hope this helps. (Bloom)
