"I have seen the Call Me Queen Stage Play twice now. Both times I was moved to tears (many times haha!) for different reasons. I remember crying the first time because of the character, Crystal, a child who had to grow up too fast and didn't feel seen or heard. The second time because of the revelation in the end that no matter what I have been through and no matter what you may have called me, I am still here. BOTH times I cried because this is someone's life, although the novel is fiction, the stories told relate to people who have made it through hell to become who they are. The Call Me Queen Stage Play is so raw and emotion evoking that you leave the theater with dried up tears on your face but also full and inspired to push past what it is that was designed to break you.

Cyrene Renee was so natural on that stage and had me at the edge of my seat following her every move. From one side to the other, she was skipping, sitting, pacing. I loved her use of the stage, using her body to communicate the message just as much as her words. Cyrene's voice was poetic and strong but gentle and broken when it needed to be. Such subtle changes were made with the props but they told the story of who that current character was. Everything that happened on that stage was so smart and intentional.

I have seen many plays, but I have never been so moved by any of them except this one. I urge you to catch the next performance of Call Me Queen, The Stage Play. There will be a mark left on your heart that I hope forces you to keep going. Whatever it is you are going through, endure it, stay true to who you are and in the end, they will call you Queen (or King!). Thank you, Cyrene Renee for the message and the inspiration!"
